Motocaddy Cube 3-Wheel Golf Cart Review

A Solid Choice

We’re reviewing the Motocaddy 3 Wheel Cube Cart 3. It’s a popular three-wheeled aluminum push cart. Motocaddy is a solid company based in California. They’re here for the long haul, not for a quick return off of cheap rebranded goods from Alibaba.

First Impressions

The best part about this golf cart is that there’s very little to discuss. It’s about as utilitarian as a golf cart can get while still holding up to the rigors of handling 40 pounds of cargo on rough terrain.

The Cube folds up in two moves. A lot of this is based on spring loaded mechanisms.

The accessory compartment underneath fills the top and it also has a drink holder, scorecard, ball and tees. Motocaddy includes an umbrella holder for good measure. Maybe they should have put a little more thought into this attachment. Many of the negative reviews include issues with the umbrella holder.

Type of Cart: Three Wheel Push/Pull

Available Colors

  • Blue
  • White
  • Red

Wheels

Wheels: EVA Plastic

Tires: Rubber

Think of lawn mower wheels here, not bicycle tires. There is really nothing to inflate or deflate about these tires.

Cart Height

The handle does adjust at three different heights. It has a ratchet lock feature to secure it into place.

Golf Cart Brake: Foot Brake

We did notice the brake can get a little fussy, especially in the heat. Make sure you’ve got it locked in and don’t “test it” on hills. The smaller profile does make it more prone to tipping than some carts with a wider width between the back wheels.

Frame Material: Metal

The Cube weighs a modest 14.5 lbs. It makes navigating very easy. You won’t feel like you’re pushing an overloaded grocery cart around the course.

Straps

The Cube is designed with Motocaddy’s Easilock Connection System. If you have a compatible bag, you won’t need the bottom strap. Other than that, the straps are elastic and will easily wrap around your bag to secure it in place.

Storage

Dimensions: 21 x 14 x 17 inches

This is about as small as a 3 wheel cart can get. The small footprint makes it easy to find a storage space in the home or just leave it in your trunk.

Good to Know

Warranty: 24 months

Included Accessories: Umbrella holder fitting.

Motocaddy includes the obligatory umbrella holder attachment with the Cube.

The cup holder won’t accommodate oversized bottles. Likewise, it won’t hold oversized phones.

Customer Support: Solid

Motocaddy provides instruction manuals for all of their products on their website. You can find them here.

All of their contact information, including emails, phone number, street address, and an online form, can be found on this page.

What the World Thinks

People love this cart so much, they buy it for family members and are repeat buyers. It folds up and fits in the tiniest of trunks.

Those that haven’t cared for it play on hilly courses. They find the Cube to be a little unstable.

The one thing most commented on was the lack of a catch-all net.

Our Opinion

Light and stable cart that’s engineered to be used with a bag (you’d be surprised how often bags aren’t considered in golf cart design). We’re in the “needs a net” camp of complainers, but other than that, it’s a reliable cart that moves easily over different types of terrain.

It was a little pricey, but lower demand for golf carts in general has forced Motocaddy to lower the price of the Cube in order to remain competitive. Their loss is your gain.
